The Lost Islands

The Lost Islands is one of the 40 states of Kiillaana. It's a group of five islands that are off the coast of Laminqua. I came up with the name for this state while on a road trip to Port Angeles, Washington. Hence, the location of this state is off the west coast.

The Lost Islands is named so because Kiillaana forgot about these islands for centuries until their facts were found written on ancient scrolls and rediscovered. There were five islands, all with Kiillra names.

I even have a picture for your viewing pleasure.

OK so here we have a map of the state. The islands are as follows:
1. Isle Del Ki
2. Isle Del Akai
3. Isle Del Machi
4. Isle Del Inu
5. Isle Del Mizu

Pretty nifty names, eh? I used three languages for each one! In English they mean, in order, Island of Trees, Red Island, Island of Cities, Canine Island, and Water/Flooded Island. These islands aren't huge but they are fairly big and each one holds about 10 cities, with the exception of #3, Isle Del Machi, which is one giant city like Manhattan.

Here are some city facts about each of the Lost Islands:

1. IDK has three cities and a total population of about 2,000. Most of this island is rainforest which "bled" over from the mainland to the north. It has the lowest population by far and is mainly a place to do outdoor sports. There is a lot to do here such as hike, climb, swim, dive, and the like. The three cities are Te'Hian, Aiki, and Pichi and they are Raellian-named (since the Raellians are nearby).

2. IDA has ten cities and a total population of about 650,000. This island is famous and unique because all the hippies of the world established their way of life here. I'll dedicate a post just to this island because it's the one I've put the most thought into and therefore I have a lot to say about it :-). The island is generally very grassy and cultivated to grow a number of crops. The beaches are rather rocky but there are some good beaches too. The two most famous things about IDA are the excellent surfing and the music festivals. This island can be described as a "melting pot" because the people are united by ideals and not race. The ten cities of IDA are Port Rose, Starry, Sunshine, Carrot, Wheatfield, Lovely, Harmony, Cotton, Magic, and Heartslove.

3. IDM is unique because it is one giant city. It is the smallest island but has the largest population at 3 million. Almost every inch of land is taken over by tall buildings and roads, although it does have a fairly big park. This mega city is also the capital of LI, which is Kesly. Kesly is laid out just like Paris and is broken down into seven subsections or districts which start at the center and spiral outwards counterclockwise. Each one is unique and all street signs will have the district number on it. District 1 is called Mattan and is at the heart of the island. All of the government buildings, country and trade relations centers, and anything at the international level is here located here. District 2 is called Arrley and is the shopping center. It is directly to the north and has every type of shop imaginable. It also contains the bridge which takes people from Kesly to Isle Del Akai. District 3 is called Tennsvil and it to the northwest. It houses about 1/3 of the population of the island in its many high rise apartments. Kesly Coastal University is also located here, as well as Kesly Park. It also links Kesly with Isle Del Inu. The fourth district is Shipport, which lies to the southwest, and is home to the major international docks where ships take their cargo. The Kesly International Central Airport is also here. Needless to say, this region has many hotels and banks, as all international people come through the customs office here. One can find many good restaurants and shops here with international flavor. The fifth district is Tullins, which lays to the south. It is fairly large and almost all of the local businesses are located here. The sixth district is Talson, which is the electronics district. Every electronic thing can be found here. The last district is Sapico, which is all residential. It lays to the northeast and has a wonderful coastline.

4. IDI is a relatively quiet coastal island. It is named after the wild dogs that once roamed the island. They were eventually domesticated and now this island is famous for dog breeding and dog shows. This island is also quite famous for the marine life that inhabit the shallow waters off the coast. The population of the island is about 900,000 and it has thirteen cities: Seaspray, Sealisle, Canopolis, Tinney, Brodger, Kelsur, Seagull, Mercer, Bogstad, Rasul, Shoreline, Lobster Fort, and Kingsisle.

5. IDMz is a unique island as well because it is actually a group of smaller islands and instead of roads there are lots of canals. There are no cars on the island. Instead there are many parking garages along the coast for people to park their cars and everyone owns a boat with which to return home. It is obviously based off of Venice. Every winter, the island floods for a few days at a time, but unlike Venice, IDM is not sinking. IDM is a very touristy place to go because of the unique structure. There are three seperate cities on the island: Tisiaovi (Flooded Land), Maikidao (Wet City), and Bradgers City.

The overall climate of the Lost Islands is warm and humid. The summer temperatures average to about 95F and the winter temperatures average to 55F. There are lots of winter storms and many of the islands get a nice breeze. The Lost Islands are a nice place to live. I want to live there.
