"I am about to make a decision that will take a lot of courage and that I have thought about very, very hard. I believe I know what to do. I have never felt something so strong as this. This will change me forever and will also change this new “me” that I have just gotten used to. It is something that has kept me up for hours until I knew it must happen. I will update more tomorrow. I must go to sleep but I cannot rest. Many preparations must be done. Oh my."
The morning came. Robin woke up early- or did he not sleep at all? He looked at the time- 4:30am. It was too much. He rose to his feet and his dog, Chandler, looked up at him, eager to go outside. Robin made his way from his bedroom to the sliding door and opened it a crack, letting his dog go outside for a while. He didn't know what to do- it wasn't even 5 in the morning. He went to his front door and grabbed the newspaper and set it on the table. He decided that there really wasn't much he could do so he got out a pan and started making breakfast. After he had added all the ingredients, he slowly walked to the table and, running a hand through his hair, sat down to read the paper. He could hardly focus on what he was reading, however, and he seemed to read the same paragraph over and over again.
The sun rose and Robin knew he must have eaten breakfast, for the pan, dish, and fork were all in the dishwasher waiting to be cleaned. It was now 6:30am. He was so anxious as a million thoughts raced through his head. He finally went over and opened his laptop and began to play runescape. After all, he still had 5 hours until work and he had to calm down and have a clear mind. Luckily his friends were already on and they began chatting, however Robin didn't remember much of the conversations. He was more interested in 6:00 that evening. After he showered and got ready for the day, he sat at his desk, eying a small, orate box. Finally, he couldn't help himself, and he opened it and began fingering the ring inside- the engagement ring that was for Ada Renee, the love of his life.
The day went on, slowly. Robin went to work and luckily was distracted enough that he made it through ok. His hand kept going into his pocket, however, to hold that small box which held his life-changing decision.
That night, he had arranged for dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, which like Open-Door Pete's, was right on the edge of the park. He was by now pretty good friends with a worker there and after hinting to him about the decision he made, the worker said he would have it all taken care of. Finally, the time had come. Robin went home to change into some nice clothing and went to Ada's apartment to pick her up. She was wearing a cute shirt and skirt that totally matched her personality. She was excited for this formal date, as she had often hinted that this was her favorite restaurant. He smiled as she opened the door and took her hand, knowing that soon it would hold an item of much beauty and love. They made their way to the monorail and soon arrived at the restaurant.
The food was great and their waiter, Robin's friend, winked at him as he gave them their dessert. As they enjoyed their meal, they talked and laughed and shared many memories and anticipations of the future. Finally, Robin knew it was time. He took a deep breath, his heart pounding, and pulled the small box out of his pocket. He looked up and looked right into her eyes- they sparkled and laughed, and were so clear and beautiful. Then, he stood up, walked over, and got down on one knee. He opened the box, showing her the beautiful ring that he had secretly chosen many nights ago. It was silver and had three jewels- magenta, aqua, and light purple in color. He told her how much he loved her and how much he thought of this moment, and asked her to marry him.
She said yes.
