A Letter From Lesko Diamond

Hello folks! The end of the year is wrapping up and so I thought I should have a Year’s End Letter, so here it is! I am so excited to start my own family letter!

As for me, I am doing quite well at this time. I am a sophomore at Kennywood University where I am double majoring in Music Performance and Music Business. This is a switch from composition, as I was recently promoted to the position of Assistant Sound Technician at my job at Norton-Johnson and discovered that I really love it! So now I am talking classes and training to become a sound and recording technician which I love and want to do for a living. This involves getting microphones and equipment ready for ensembles to record and then processing the video and sound and making it available for viewing. It is a very enjoyable job and I have to thank Oja for getting me a job here in the first place. I am still very active with ILEN and we have performed several shows in Kennywood and Kaytue since the school year started. The four of us have many songs and performances lined up and love to perform! In addition, I am enjoying playing in band, orchestra, a trumpet octet, and marching band at school. I get a lot of experience doing what I love. I am working on a junior recital for next fall and some octet recitals for the spring. In addition to that I enjoy being with friends and family.

Avicile is doing very well also. We found out that we were expecting our first child in May! She decided to go ahead with the fall semester and after many weeks of thinking she decided to do marching band as well! It was so fun seeing her march as her belly grew and grew. She successfully completed the semester with no surprises, so that was good! She has decided to take a break from school to start raising our new family. We want to have a big family but when all of our children are in school she is planning to return. She enjoyed being principal clarinet in band and orchestra and loved the semester. Now she is preparing for our baby boy who is due in early January.

We are very excited to become parents! We are currently sill living in one half of a duplex with Eric and Rebecca Latham living in the other side but we have all purchased an area of land in a new subdivision in the north of the city and are planning to build a duplex there! Currently the foundation is in and progress is going well and we should be ready to move in next summer! It is on a hill and we will share a very large backyard, game room, and pantry. Our side will have a beautiful master bedroom with walk-in bath, 2 bedrooms and 2 bonus rooms, two more bathrooms, a nice entry room with an open kitchen, dining room, and large living room. We are planning to have a large family and plan to live here for a very long time, since everything we like is here. All we have left to do is decide on themes and colors.

As for the baby, he’s doing great! He is between 37 and 39 weeks now and looks to be about 7 pounds. Everything is looking good from the scans and we look forward to meeting our new son soon! There is lots of excitement over who he’ll look like and what he’ll be like once he’s here. We do have a name picked out but we’re not telling until he is born. His middle name will be an anagram of my name and his first name was actually in our minds from the moment we heard it so we knew it was right. We are planning on a gem theme for our children’s names because our last name is Diamond but I’m not spilling any beans before he is here. We have the nursery all ready to go for him though. We chose a jungle theme which hopefully will grow with him and any other children we have. Our bags for the hospital are packed and we have a carseat, stroller, and more all ready to go! All we do now is wait.

We have spent the past week traveling to Aiibaatland and watching my older sister get married, which was very fun for everyone. We went to Jadali for a day and of course went to Aiko County to shop and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We had a wonderful time visiting my family and doing all our fun traditions. Now we are on our way back home and thankfully the baby has been good and has stayed put. It’s all downhill from here! Maybe we’ll even have a New Year’s Baby!

We love you all and look forward to 2010!

Love,
Lesko, Avicile, and Baby Boy
