It was a quiet Monday evening. Oja was off from work and had just finished raking up the early leaves from their new house. How good it felt to finally be moved in! The weather was much cooler and a light sprinkle had started outside- Oja's second favorite weather, behind a clear night when the moon was full.
The garage door opened and Cameron pulled into the driveway after a long day of school and shopping for groceries. Oja looked up smiling as he saw her enter the house and set his rake back on its hook and went over to help her unload the car. He greeted her with a huge smile and a kiss on the cheek before embracing her tenderly in his strong arms. He could tell by the look on her face that something was going on- something good.
"I have a present for you!" Cameron exclaimed, trying not to burst with excitement and giddiness. "Oh?" Oja replied smiling. "Yes! I even wrapped it up for you!" she replied, giggling, as she handed Oja a small box that looked to hold school supplies, wrapped up in white tissue paper with red ribbons- Oja's favorite color. He went over to the couch, Cameron next to him, and sat down, gingerly opening the box. Opening it carefully, he pulled out a beautiful picture frame, not very big inside. In it wasn't a picture of them, but a picture of a diamond ring with the phrase
Come June, when the leaves are green and the air is sweet, the 4th diamond will gain its own piece of the ring.
Oja stared at it, then at Cameron, then back at the frame. With tears in his eyes, he turned back to Cameron who was about to burst with excitement. As their eyes met they embraced, their hearts filled with so much joy that it could not be contained. "You're going to be a dad!" she exclaimed. "...And you a mommy!" Oja replied, smiling wide.
Yes, Oja and Cameron are expecting their first child due in June!!!
