  • He was first suspected to be a Man of Osai around the age of 7, when during a power outage due to a bad storm, he simply walked over to the shelf, grabbed a book, and then went back to reading like nothing had happened. His parents had heard of Osai Naori in school but because it was so rare they never really thought much of it.
  • When he was 9 years old his parents realized that he did not sleep like his siblings. He could take his baby siblings and rock them all night without being the least bit tired. He was so good at pretending to be asleep that nobody even suspected that he would get up and silently move about.
  • He was discovered when he was 10 years old on Daso Osano (Full Moon) after his parents heard that his eyes would glow in the moonlight. They took him outside and sure enough he had the unmistakable ring in his eyes. He was taken right away to the Aikada who called forth the mark and confirmed him to be indeed a possessor of the Gift of Osai.
  • After his discovery he read everything he could about it and was delighted to see his name added to the list. He traveled to Rihanu and met Yehai Sorela and Drakon Visai the following summer. They loved his caring nature and self-driven ways.
  • Realizing the full extent of his gift, he decided to make a career out of helping people and felt lead to become a surgeon. In his own [translated] words, he wanted "to be known as the Surgeon Who Does Not Sleep."
  • He married the love of his life, Karina Laio, in 1932. He had known her for years and she was ill a lot of the time with a heart condition. Despite this, she gave birth to two children- Mierkeli Roy (1940) and Tigren Res (1945).

A Short Description

He walks into the small room to review the tests with his young patient's mother. He is dressed in blue scrubs and has the look of a man full of knowledge. Even at 96 years old he doesn't look a day over 30. His Catin eyes are dark but shine with his radiant, warm smile. His voice is surprisingly low and he speaks with a very soft tone that fills the room with peace. He gently holds up some pictures and explains the structures of the heart and how sometimes things happen and began to explain the other pictures and then the methods they go about repairing it. The young mother is nervous but is calmed by his demeanor.

Much later the surgery is over and the young child returns, a bit older now. He remembers his name as clear as day and sits the child on his knee, asking him about his life at home and speaking with him about many things. He has been mistaken for a Man of Terabi on many occasion due to his aura of peace and sense of goodwill but always smiles and says "Na, ki da en Osanokai!" with a chuckle. Every day he goes in, working with the delicate heart, helping it to function as it should and give others the long life that his wife did not have the opportunity to have in her day. Her memory lives on in everyone he has ever come into contact with and he loves his job so very much.
