Fast Facts
  • Ilonwyn is of the unique sub-class of Osanokai known as the Eldin of Leena. Since Jadali's creation in 1020 a Man of Osai has been appointed to lead them. True to Osai's word, there is always an overlap of about 20 years where there are 2 Men of Osai on Jadali and when the older one dies the younger one takes up post.
  • He is the 9th ruler over the country. The previous rulers were: Lore Hieldin (1792-1928), Trevin Riedlore (1670-1805), Riedlan Migala (1559-1690), Meiro Bhangren (1460-1583), Arador Montalo (1342-1479), Drakon Lochgren (1223-1364), Kalo Freloch (1100-1239), and Isiador Freloch (984-1120).
  • His successor has not been born yet, although he will likely surface sometime along the next 10 years.
  • He was born in Thahro del Mont on New Year's Day, which was all foreseen by Lore Hieldin. He was discovered that very day since Osai had told him and the country was expecting it.
  • He is a pure descendant of Saldin and Iria Lochmont and therefore has one brown eye and one blue eye.
  • He is the son of Elbhin Lochmont and Araneli Oakloch and was the youngest of three; he had two much older sisters- Inala Delmont (1880-1956) and Laneah Ardin (1880-1962).
  • Growing up as the heir to the throne, Ilonwyn was much loved by the people and enjoyed his studies learning about the country's rich history.
  • He was a personal witness of fellow Osanokai S. R. Sorela's initiation as a Man of Terabi and was completely present during all of the events surrounding it. Although this event was not a very pleasant one he is still always so happy that he was chosen to be the one to witness it, along with Terabikai Meiro Freloch and herbalist Isli Loch.
  • He still vividly recalls this vision that Osai gave to him from time to time in full physical and mental detail. It is very unsettling but a reminder of the greatness of the event.
  • He always goes for a morning run just before sunrise along the coast.
  • He studied history in school and often guest lectures at schools in Jadali. He loves nothing more than sharing this great history with the youth.
  • He loves horses and has had several over the years that he cared for and rode over the mountains for business and fun.
  • He travels to Taleah often to use modern technology and to walk through the great rainforests of Anguadoria.
  • His favorite color is yellow and all of his clothing contains at least yellow stitching.
  • He is a collector of bronze cast artwork.
  • He loves music, art, and theatre and personally commissions artists to encourage them to make full use of their craft. He attends concerts and events as often as he can and loves to travel all over Jadali seeing what kinds of things are going on.
  • He married his love, the beautiful Iyara Freloch, in 1928, in the Great Law Hall of Leena. She obtained a double mastery in Farming and tended the palace gardens and farms.
  • They had three children- Caius Lochmont (1932), Naidel Bhangren (1935), and Alvin Lochmont (1940). All of his children and grandchildren live on Jadali and most live in the province of Lochmont. His wife died in 1991 at the age of 92.
  • He is a very funny man who does not like to think of himself any higher than anyone else. He is a friend to everyone and knows many people personally.

A Short Description

Ascending up the stone steps of Dahsir Castle, one can almost feel the aura of dark mystery that surrounds it. It seems as though it is totally empty of life but this is farthest from the truth. At the far end of the castle is the tower where the Eldin of Leena ponders by moonlight while watching out towards the sea on the beautiful starry nights. Standing at the base of the stairs is the man himself, filled with majesty. The Jadali Kiillra are a little bit taller than their sister Catin race and this man seems to make that true. Standing tall, he is about 6 feet, his broad shoulders calling attention to his height. Looking into his deep-set eyes, one notices immediately that the right eye is blue like the ocean and the left eye is brown like the dark earth. His hair holds a nice wave and is a light brown color, almost golden. His pondering face is softened by his warm smile, inviting all who wish to enter and speak.

He speaks with a loud voice, with that crisp clarity that the Jadali are famous for. Today he is speaking in Kevian and has a very lovely and heavy accent, almost unchanged from the beginning. He begins to recount his experiences with the mysterious S. R. Sorela, who is the only person who will ever have both Osai Naori and Terabi Tana. His face lit up as he told of how the young infant boy was brought before him at only a couple weeks of age, his parents wanting him to personally visit with him, as they sensed he was to become something great. He recalled how he placed his hands on the young infant's head and immediately the mark of Osai glowed brightly in his eyes and Osai, in his unmistakable loud voice, confirmed that this young child was indeed a Man of Osai, but then something strange happened. It was only hinted at in small auras and visions, but this child would grow up having a very strange and unusual life, one filled with oddity and pain but that all things would be overcome. With tears in his eyes, he told the captivated audience that he had no idea that what was hinted at was that this young child would be the chosen one with both gifts of the Catin gods. He went on to tell of this young boy's early life and his face grew dark and he described the bad and unusual things he encountered.

He continued, getting closer to the most dramatic turn of the story. Ilonwyn recounts his visit to a local tavern about three miles west of Dahsir Castle, on the other side of the river. He was talking with some friends when suddenly a great vision came to him and as he recounted and described what he saw he began to physically change and get into the story. He saw of a terrible and awe-struck moment and knew he had been summoned back to Dahsir Castle, where another attack of the curse had taken place, as they often did, but this time something was different and he had to leave immediately. He remearked about how he simply shouted "I must ride!" and as he ran out the door Osai told him clearly that he had no time to get his horse and that he must run through the forest. Trusting his guidance, he did this, running faster than humanly possible. Dodging trees and even jumping across the wide river, he cleared 3 miles in about 3 minutes, completely untouched, arriving on the scene which is forever burned into his mind.

Tears began to fall from his face as he described the scene he saw and even though he knew he should not touch the burnt body laid out before him Osai told him that he must and that he would be protected from the dark energy which still surrounded it. This he did and he experienced the entire dark ordeal of what had just happened to this young Man of Osai in complete detail. Had he not been a Man of Osai himself he would have died from the grasp of the evil on his body. Ilonwyn was now shaking at this point as he explained that what he had just witnessed was S. R. Sorela actually slaying a dark beast of the Realm of Terabi. Nobody save Terabi himself had ever done this and it was at that point that Osai finally told Ilonwyn that this young man was the one who would have both gifts and their full powers at that. The images that he saw would forever scar him and he later would lay for a full day completely in awe of what had just happened.

He then told of how after the whole ordeal was over they had to transport S. R. Sorela's burnt body in a cart to the home of Isli Loch where he would have to be wrapped daily. Ilonwyn was the one who got to go to his parents' house and tell them of the events that had gone on. They came at once to the home and wept and stared in awe, taking in what had just happened. Ilonwyn went on saying how every day he would go visit him and wonder if today was the day he would regain the ability to speak and recover from this great event. There was a time he thought he never would, but Osai assured him that all was well. After all, he was pushed beyond death, and would take time to come back. Because S. R. Sorela was a Man of Osai he recovered quickly and finally was able to leave and return home.

Every time he tells of that story he recounts it as if it was happening all over again. He finally regains his composure and remarks that he was never the same after that happened. The two of them remain very close friends to this day and they visit each other often and write even more than that. Even though that great happened almost 50 years ago and they now live very far apart they still feel like they live just a city away. As he goes on to share more, much happier stories of this young man, he is filled with compassion and love and is not afraid to show that. Ilonwyn has always been that way- unafraid to hide his true feelings.

Every story he tells, whether it be of the mysterious S. R. Sorela, the great Lore Hieldin who was Ilonwyn's predecessor, stories of his wife and children, funny or amazing things he has seen or heard at concerts, or anything else, he is always very animated and recounts it from his amazing memory with much enthusiasm.
