Jeffrey's Monologue

I have a gift… a gift so powerful only 26 people in the world have it. I am one. I am here to see of things to come, as they will happen; as Osai sees fit I can see a great many things to help others. I can see far into time while you can only see your next chances for temporary pleasure. So long you have relied on the help of others when you cannot help yourself. Don’t forget who is always there to help you, Kyle. It’s not Jeremy. It’s me. When darkness falls and takes your soul I am there, holding the lantern, preparing to take you back. I do not need sleep so that I can watch over people like you who need it. Never fail to see that because someday I will not be here to save you from your choices. Temporary pleasure always produces great pain, not just for you, but for all those around you. You are 20, I am 15, and yet I know this to be true. One day your choices will come back and change you forever. How you ask? I have seen it.

Don’t go to the party, Kyle. If you do you will sacrifice yourself. I have spoken. The choice is yours.

This was one of the first things I wrote about Jeffrey Peak, right after I connected his name to my redrawn list of Men of Osai. In fact, it's probably the first thing I did right after the opener story of him tending to Kyle. I did it on the bus on the way to school one random Spring morning in 2010. I had just envisioned him ranting about Kyle and decided to write it down. The notebook it was in was lost for about a year and it made me so incredibly happy to find it with this totally intact! It's not much but it's still pretty cool!
