Some Genealogy of Mera Visi

In my free time I enjoy doing such things as drawing, writing little mini blurbs, and... tracing people back! Below is a small full tracing of the Loch crest from Declan Loch all the way back to before the days of Jadali. A couple of the men have a cool story to tell but as there are so many I haven't gotten to all of them. Let's rewind back to, oh, 997 in the land before Tevernid or Tensk were even established.

Wilfred Wolf (997-1080)
Born in the budding city of Grey Stone Alley, which would become present-day Tevernid over the next 2 decades, Wilfred Wolf was the oldest of three. He was just 16 years old during the immense battle of Kiillaana against the Enemy Uprising. He served in the army and even rubbed shoulders with Dragon Dodger and his army of five which have become a staple of Kiillaanian history (Dragon Dodger was so famous that his line, the Kye crest, has a mark in the eyes). After the intense, two year battle, Wilfred Wolf headed for the east coast, settling in the port city of Aiibaatland, where he began a career as a fisherman. As far as he cared, he did his two years of capital military service and was ready for a quieter and more maritime lifestyle.

He settled there quite well and in 1016 he married another Grey Stone Alley native who too had migrated eastward, Fair Maiden Marie, a beautiful girl with some Catin ancestry in her blood. She was a carer to the sick and needy and would often come home with many stories to tell. The young couple was well known in Aiibaatland for going to the pub each evening for their usual favorite meal and would tell stories of the day as a large crowd circled them with eager ears.

One day in 1019, a group of 13 people, led by a Man of Osai, stopped by the tavern to rest for a few days. Wilfred Wolf, being a very curious and social young man, was in the tavern that day as always and engaged them in conversation. He recognized many of them, as they were fairly close to his age and all from Grey Stone Alley. They told him of how they were all individually called of either Osai or Terabi and were to travel northward and then go to a large, uninhabited area of land about 12 miles off the coast, and establish a new race. They explained that they had been chosen to initiate a new tribe of people that would be a symbol of Osai and Terabi's friendship and loyalty. Wilfred Wolf was extremely interested in this and spent a long time talking to them, finding out which port city they would settle in. He had heard of the large island, but it was uninhabitable, as if it was being reserved for a greater purpose. He had a great interest in living on this island among them and they told him that the country would likely open its borders eventually, and the Man of Osai told him that it would definitely be in his lifetime.

His wife heard all of this as well and 3 years later, in 1022, they moved north up to Taleah, the port city to this new country, which was now established as Jadali. The original 13 were well on their way to increase that number exponentially and had begun to set provinces, customs, and the like. They were mostly self-sufficient, but there were some things that they needed outside aid on so a few times a year a boat with about 4 of the 7 men would land at the Port of Taleah and they would talk and gather supplies. Wilfred Wolf was right there among them and delighted in hearing their stories. He could hardly wait until he could live on the lovely island!

The two of them gave birth to their only child, a boy which they named Drakon Osiel (Dark Dragon), in 1027. Wilfred Wolf continued to be a fisherman along the waters of Taleah while raising up his son and enjoying the times with his wife. He tried very hard to learn Keòen before he got there and was quite good at it, teaching it to his wife and son. When the borders of Jadali finally opened in 1040, Wilfred Wolf, Fair Maiden Marie, and their 13-year-old son Drakon Osiel were on the first ferry of people to Jadali, and they immediately settled in Leena Eithre-Resa. They built their home right along the coast and they all happily lived there for the rest of their lives.

Wilfred Wolf remained a great fisherman right until his death at the age of 83 in 1080. His wife became a teacher and carer at the town school and was well loved by many. She died in 1081 at the age of 82.

Drakon Osiel (1027-1089)
At the age of 13, Drakon Osiel eagerly moved with his parents from Taleah to the young and growing country of Jadali. He was just as excited as his father about living there and it was love at first sight the moment he arrived. He quickly adapted to the customs and teachings of the Jadali and became a fisherman like his father. He fell in love with Tania Echo Hieldin, a sweet girl from the mountains who had come to the coast to study fishing, and they were married in the newly-completed Great Law Hall in 1050. Being an outsider, Drakon Osiel was free to choose a new crest for his children. After deliberating about it for a very long time, they decided on the Loreloch crest, meaning "law of the heart." They had two handsome sons together, Townsend Rivard Loreloch in 1052 and Iofreya Bard Loreloch in 1054. Drakon Osiel died fairly young at the age of 61 in 1089 but he died a happy man who was confident that he spent his life in the right land. His wife died in 1110 at the age of 80.

Townsend Rivard Loreloch (1052-1119)
From a young age, Townsend knew that he was destined to work the anvils. He loved metalwork and weaponry of any kind but also had a keen interest in practical things like chains, railings, and the like. Dahsir Castle was finally completed when he was 6 years old and he was there along with the rest of the population. He was able to tour its walls shortly after and from then on he made his decision to become a smith, reportedly after he saw the ornate swords adorning the north walls.

After he turned 18 he moved from Leena Eithre-Resa to Thahro del Mont, a central city at the base of the mountains, that served as a place for many of the provinces to meet and trade their crafts and knowledge. It was here that he began working on mastery and double mastery of smithing. As time went on, he had established himself as an expert weapon maker, perfecting the art of the sword with his unique touch and ideas. His brother, who he remained very close with, settled in the mountains to the north where he became a hunter expert.

Townsend married Cinitah Montàlo in 1085, after he spent extensive time touring the country, learning from others and sharing his own discoveries about smithing. He was 32 years old at the time and was well-known in both his hometown and the province of Balthòr. He was 42 years old when his only child, who was named Trevin Loreloch, was born, but he raised him with a unique love that carried over far past his death in 1119. Townsend enjoyed traveling all over the country and his young son would accompany him when he was old enough, which he loved.

Trevin Loreloch (1095-1176)
Being the son of much older parents, Trevin was raised with a certain aged wisdom and knowledge. He would often accompany his father on journeys all over Jadali to see the magnificent beauty and to learn about the art of smithing. He became a very good smith, but his passion was in glassmaking, so he used his knowledge of one to transfer to the other and among his notable works he was very good at making stained glass. He married his childhood sweetheart, Diana Hieldin, in 1115, and they spent time working in the shops and building their home. Neither of them reached double mastery but they were fine workers who spent their time together and watching over the children in the village.

One summer morning, in the year 1125, Trevin had a dream about his wife's unborn child- that he would be an immensely important figure of power and love, and who would go on to become a hero of Jadali. When he told Diana of this, she agreed that he should be given his own title and not take on the Loreloch crest. Their son, which they named Mera Visi (meaning Keeper, of vision) was born a short while later and did indeed have a very powerful aura. He would go on, as the dream promised, to become a national hero of Jadali but there was so much more- he also established an unbroken crest that continues today with thousands of descendants.

Trevin remained in Thahro del Mont for all of his life and made things like vials and lanterns up until he retired in 1170. He died a happy man in 1176 at the age of 81.

Mera Visi (1125-1220)
Even before his birth, it was known without a doubt that Mera Visi was a man of significant importance. He was seen in a dream by his father a few months before his birth and because of the significance of the dream he was given the last name "Visi" meaning "of vision" instead of the Loreloch crest. His first name, Mera, was an aural term given to someone who kept order through his great power. Therefore, his name is a title meaning "The keeper of the peoples' well-being, who was seen of vision." Shortly after his birth, he was taken to Dahsir Castle where Kalo Freloch gave him his name and discovered him to me a Man of Terabi. There had been a few previous but none for a long time so this was cause for a celebration. When he was 7 years old, Mera was taken into the Realm where he was fully initiated and given all of the powers associated with Terabi Tana. He was also advised by Terabi himself to write down his experiences in a journal so that others could learn about not just the Realm but of its functions and of life in Jadali.

Mera Visi would go on to take this charge with great care and seriousness and as his experiences became widespread he was revered as a hero. People were drawn to him by his aura and his ability to know the true feelings of others brought them great peace and helped him to do many wonderful things for the cause of helping others. His descriptions of the Realm and his experiences in it are still studied and well known to this day. He did indeed become a national hero, settling in the main city of Leena where he pursued double mastery in Herblore, a skill which he chose because he could help others through medicine. He also saved many people, many a time from the Curse of the Realm which was very prominent in his time.

He met his wife, Naidel Lochgren, in childhood but they did not get married until 1152, after he had completed his double mastery of Herblore and she had completed hers in Crafting. They lived in Leena the remainder of their lives although both of them traveled often. He became a very close friend of Kalo Freloch, the Eldin of Leena, and with both gifts present they were able to complete many things otherwise impossible. Mera and Naidel had one son in 1154. Because Mera Visi didn't have a crest, he took the common root from his father and wife's crests, Loch, and made that the crest of his son. They knew that their son would become a warrior and wanted to name him Frey, but as Freloch is a crest they altered the name slightly to avoid confusion, giving him the name Jeffrey Loch.

Mera did not leave a body behind when he died, rather he was transfigured into the Realm at the age of 95, leaving an incredible legacy to his name.
