A Momentous Occasion

"It would be funny if you were having twins," Avicile Mohaili joked.

"With the way I've been feeling lately, I wouldn't doubt it," Rebecca replied as she lay on the table.

They both watched the gray screen and tried to see what they could pick out.

"Well, here we have an arm... and a little head... and- oh!" The nurse running the ultrasound suddenly stopped talking and was looking closely at the screen.

"What is it?" Rebecca asked nervously. "Did you find the gender of my baby?"

"Well, I can definitely say that you are having two boys. Does that sound good?"

"WHAT?? TWO??? You were right! I'm having twins!! Are you serious????

"I am serious!" the doctor replied, cheerfully. "Congratulations!"

*****

After the shock of discovering Rebecca was carrying not one, but two boys in her tiny frame, it was her best friend's turn to hop up onto the exam table. They had gotten pregnant within two weeks of each other and were eagerly awaiting the news if they would be welcoming boys or girls into the family.

"Is this your first pregnancy too?" the doctor asked Avicile as she lifted her shirt.

"No, this is my third," she replied. "Rebecca will have six sets of arms to help her with her two boys."

Rebecca giggled, giddy with excitement, as she was reminded that she was in fact carrying twins.

"Wouldn't it be awesome if you were also having twins, and we had four babies to welcome home?" Rebecca asked, jokingly.

"Well, twins do run heavily in my family, and my husband's family too. My husband is a twin himself, and so am I!"

Finally everything was ready and the exam began. The doctor was quiet as the gray and blurry images came into view. "I'm only two weeks behind her, but it would be so cool if they shared a birthday or something." I keep thinking it will be another boy. I have one of each so someone's going to be doubled."

"I still think twins would be hilarious," Rebecca said, looking closely at the large blob on the screen. "Wow, your baby is huge!"

"Yeah, I was noticing that. This baby looks way bigger than Sterling. Maybe it's another tall boy like my husb--"

"Oh my gosh, you are having twins!" the doctor shouted. Rebecca and Avicile looked at the doctor, dumbfounded. They were in total disbelief but there, clearly on the screen, were two beating hearts.

"No way! You're joking!" Avicile exclaimed. "We're really both having twins?? We're welcoming FOUR babies into our house at the same time??? It's not just a big baby??????"

"Nope!" said the doctor, also in shock. "There are definitely two hearts beating. Plus, your prediction was right. You're definitely having a boy. In fact, you two are going to be welcoming four boys into your family!"

They couldn't speak. They both teared up and hugged tightly, the whole time whispering "Four boys... Four boys.... Four boys!"

*****

That night, they planned their surprise for their husbands and the kids. Both happened to be at work that day, knowing full well that when they came home they would know if they were expecting girls or boys into the Diamond Latham house. They had no idea that both were having twins and that they were all boys- fraternal boys at that, in both cases.

"Well, at least they'll all look different," Rebecca said as they walked to Winterwood's house to pick up Sterling and Emerald. They had decided also to invite everyone in the neighborhood that they knew to find out the news. They had no idea it would be so monumental. They had decided to tell their husbands first and then have a dinner party where they would announce it to their friends.

Finally the two men returned home and sat down on the couch, facing their lovely wives. Lesko held Sterling in his lap while Emerald toddled around her mother. Sterling was old enough to understand but Emerald was still a bit too young to fully grasp the concept of a baby brother.

"So... what did the doctor say?" Lesko asked, his voice shaky with excitement and anticipation.

"Rebecca can go first," Avicile replied, "She got pregnant first."

"Well, the appointment was fine," Rebecca started, looking around nonchalantly, "my due date got moved a little earlier......" she paused for a long time between each phrase. "The exam room was cold and the gel was colder........ but we know with as much certainty, especially since everything was in clear view, that I am....... having........... boys."

Eric's eyes got wide. "Wait a minute. Why did you say boys? Boys? BOYS? With an S???? Are you having twins??????"

"Yes yes yes!!!" Rebecca replied, tearing up again, standing to hug Eric tightly. Lesko was also equally as surprised and excited and went over to hug them too. Even Sterling knew what was going on and hugged Rebecca around her legs.

Once they had settled down and had absorbed that news, it was Avicile's turn to share her good news. "All right, now it's my turn. I feel like I'm going to upstage her but I'm totally not," she laughed. "Lesko, you thought boy? Eric, you thought boy too? And Sterling I know thought I was going to have a boy too. Well, how does TWO BOY sound?"

"NO WAY!!!! Lesko jumped into the air and hugged his wife tightly. "You're also having twins???"

"Yes! We're both having twins and it's ALL BOY!"

Sterling was very excited and ran around shouting "O boy o boy! I will hab two brudders!"

Lesko and Eric, tears in both of they eyes, basked in the excitement. "Wow, in fifteen years, they're going to eat everything we own!" Lesko said, laughing and crying at the same time.

Once the big excitement calmed down again, Avicile turned to Sterling. "What do you think I should name your brothers?"

Sterling thought for a moment before shouting his answer with glee. "Sterling and Emerald!"

Everyone laughed and awaited the evening when they could tell everyone the good news.

Four boys will join the Diamond Latham house!

Us Both??

I am very happy to announce that not one, but both of the ladies of the Diamond-Latham house are expecting!

I've known for weeks (call it my instincts) but haven't bothered to look until now. Rebecca hasn't been feeling well the past few days and we finally went to the store to get those cute little sticks of anxiety. Knowing already what mine would be (and the test didn't disappoint) we awaited the results of Rebecca's with nervous excitement. When we saw that little plus we both were ecstatic! We eagerly awaited the arrival of our men and the babies and had arranged a treasure hunt that they loved solving. At the end, inside the pillows on the couch, they found the letters used to spell out the words they both wanted to hear: "We're both expecting!" The look on Eric's face was priceless!

I'm so excited to be pregnant alongside Rebecca! Our littlest ones will be the same age! How neat! She's probably further ahead than me based on our little math but we'll have the details after our appointment!

Happy as always with news like this,
Avicile Mohaili Diamond

Rodney in Narrative

Below are three very old narratives, completely unedited, about the life of Rodney Savage. Enjoy!

"Rodney"
Written 31 August, 2005
…She turned the corner and there he was, in the same spot, wearing the same clothing that he was described in. He looked and acted almost exactly like he was described. He was lying down with his back propped up against the wall, his hands hidden by the pocket of his huge, oversized, white sweatshirt. His left leg was stretched out, threatening to trip any person who wasn’t paying attention. His right leg was bent, his right foot next to his left knee. His pants were extremely baggy, but to Avi, they looked very comfortable. He had on a pair of white skate shoes with fat, white laces. Oh, how all his clothing looked comfortable and warm in this cold January winter. He had on his hood, as he always did, but she could see the side of his face. His dark brown bangs were gelled and spiked forward, and his beautiful blue eyes were made even more powerful by the permanent scowl he had when listening to his music or thinking up lyrics. He had no grin or frown, his lips were in a look of concentration.

She noticed that one of his fingers was tapping to a beat, probably to the music that was blaring through the headphones. He did not seem to be really looking at anything, just stuck in thought. As she watched him from afar, she noticed the three, and only three, people that he hung out with. The guy to this man’s left was lying on the floor with his head on his binder, solving a 4X4 Rubik’s Cube that the boy to the young man’s right just scrambled. Avi realized that this was William, the nerd of the group. The two boys on the left were playing a game of cards. The one not facing the young man was the only one not wearing the large, baggy clothing. He was wearing jeans and a T-Shirt. Avi knew who this was, it was her cousin, Jayce, a great drummer, and the talker of the group. The boy facing Jayce had his hair in dreadlocks and was talking about what had happened in Math class. This was Steven Jones, better known to everyone as Ghost.

As Avi watched, the young man that she had been watching turned, and his eyes met hers. It was odd, but Avi could not look away. Neither could this young man. She managed to smile shyly and wave before dashing down the hall in the other direction, her face turning red. Later in the day, she asked her cousin Jayce what that young man’s name was. She was told that his name was Rodney Savage… and within a few weeks, Rodney became Avicile’s first real boyfriend…

"Rodney's Schooling"
Written 24 October, 2005
Rodney started out Kindergarten like normal over at Blue River Elementary School. Unfortunately, his teacher and the principal did not understand his unusually quiet ways. He got yelled at a lot by Mrs. Kellons, which made him even quieter. The whole year was bad- every conference was negativity- neither the teacher nor the principal ever said anything good about Rodney, which was odd because he was a very smart kid and picked up things very fast. His mother got into several arguments about Rodney’s “lack of social skills.”

At the very end of the year, less that two weeks before school got out, Mrs. Kellons and Mrs. Solen scheduled another conference. Rodney was in the back of the room playing by himself as his mom sat down with the teacher and principal. They didn’t get far before things got bad. Mrs. Kellons started off with, “Mrs. Savage, we have talked with the school psychiatrist about your son…” (She never referred to him by his name. He was referred to as “the quiet kid” or “your son.”) “…and we have decided that, due to his lack of social skills, the best option for him is to repeat Kindergarten.” Those words were barely out of her mouth when Rodney’s mom jumped up, very upset that they could think such a thing.

“How dare you say that about my son, my pride and joy. You want my son to repeat Kindergarten just because he prefers to be alone? That’s all you ever talk about!! Why can’t ‘your son’ interact during playtime? ‘Your son’ doesn’t do show and tell. ‘The quiet one’ is over there. His name isn’t ‘the quiet one!’ His name is Rodney James Savage and he is a normal person! Have you not noticed how well he writes his letters? Have you not noticed that what he so-called lacks in social skills he makes up for in academics? You have the nerve to get together with the psychiatrist and suggest that he gets held back just because he doesn’t talk as much as a ‘normal’ kid does? Well let me tell you he sure won’t be going to first grade here!! I’m taking him out of this school as soon as I can!! Come on Rodney, time to go.”

The whole way home, Rodney’s mom was enraged. Rodney just sat in the passenger seat (of the Rodneymobile, by the way) and scowled. The instant they got home, his mom was on the phone with Wagon Wheel Elementary School registering Rodney there. She realized that she’d better sign up Joel as well, so she did that too. They were immediately accepted and everything was taken care of. His mom explained Rodney’s anti-socialness and they said they’d take care of him.

Rodney got pulled out of kindergarten a week early. His mom couldn’t stand sending her son to a place where he was treated less than equal. Rodney started the first grade at WWES after that summer. His teacher was Mrs. Smithson and she was very good. She understood Rodney’s quiet ways and worked with him to get him to participate in class but be quiet at the same time. Rodney met his best friend in this class, Jayce Richlin. They hung out together all the time and slept over at each other’s houses. In second grade, Steven Jones joined the group. The three of them did everything together and after William Ritter moved in and was accepted their group became complete. Four friends that were always together, doing all the fun things every group does. Rodney’s mom was so happy.

When they hit middle school, Rodney and Ghost went to Ken Bridges Middle School while Jayce and William went to Milton Middle School. They were together at someone’s house every weekend and holiday. They grew up into teens and grew even closer. Finally, after three years of long separation, they were in the same high school! They started a band called the No-Namers with the four of them plus Joel.

"Rodney's First Day of School"
Written 26 December, 2005
Beep beep! The alarm went off at 6:00 at a two-story house on the east end of Kajil Street. Rodney threw back the covers and groaned- it was the first day of school. That meant he’d have to introduce himself to the classes he would soon occupy. He slowly slipped into his favorite clothes- a huge sweatshirt, loose, baggy jeans, and big floppy skate shoes. After getting ready he had mixed feelings about going to school. He loudly let his mom know how much he hated school- working in groups, reading aloud from the text, answering stupid questions, etc., but he was also secretly excited, for he’d see his four best friends and his girlfriend, who he hadn’t seen all summer.

He slowly ambled towards one of his most prized possessions- his white and blue Toyotavan. He fumbled around for his keys and clumsily stuck them into the ignition. A quarter-turn later and he was on his way to school. He turned the music all the way up as protest for not being able to bring his player to school. He soon arrived at school and parked in his usual spot- in the tennis court parking lot. As he got out and slowly dragged his feet towards the back door he wondered if his friends would be there.

His question was answered quickly because as he opened the door, his entire group was there waiting for him. He ran to his girlfriend and held her tight- he hadn’t seen her all summer! He was so happy to see his friends! He stayed right there until the bell rang and he reluctantly left and ambled off to Kevian. He had a new teacher named Mrs. Johnson.

He knew this class would suck the moment he sat down. There were no desks but six tables. “Sit down at a table. No sir, not over there, at a table.” Rodney was mad. He thought he could escape sitting by himself but no such luck. He kicked the chair over to the farthest corner possible and sat down. Then he slowly backed up so that he was back to where he was before. After Mrs. Johnson spent a large portion of the class hour talking about herself, she told everyone to stand up and introduce themselves. Rodney stared at his empty kangaroo pocket in disgust as everyone told something about themselves. When the time came for Rodney to stand up, he remained slouched in his chair and grumbled, “I’m Rodney.” without looking up. “Please stand up and say your name again and something you did.” Rodney reluctantly stood up- actually it was more like a pitiful half-slouch- and again, without lifting his head, quickly grumbled, “I’m Rodney. I did things.” and promptly collapsed back into his chair. “Well, that’s very interesting Rodney. Um, who’s next?”

Second period was none better. “Welcome to Government,” the high-pitched voice said sternly. “I expect you to do the best you can in this class.” Rodney took his usual seat- the corner farthest away from the door and everyone else. Thankfully he was allowed to stay there but what happened next was what Rodney would describe as mortifying. She made everyone get in a circle and introduce themselves, using alliterative adjectives. The circle went around and everyone had to repeat the previous names. Silly Sammi, Tantalizing Tina, Wacky William, the list went on. When it got to Rodney, he simply said, quietly and quickly as usual, “I’m Rodney.” “I didn’t hear your name,” Ms. Callahan said fakely. Rodney was annoyed. She was clearly trying to get him to say another lame, stupid word to describe himself. He would have none of it. “Rodney,” he said quickly and continued staring at a small hole that had worn its way to the top of his pocket. To his surprise and disgust, she said, “Now class, can we think of a good word to describe Rodney?” Rodney shuddered while a few kids snickered. Quiet? No, that doesn’t start with an R. Rowdy? No, total opposite of what he was. Rare? Yes, rare Rodney. Great, now he was tarred with Rare Rodney, like he was a steak or something. He was filled with the biggest of disgust and mortification. He didn’t want anyone to check him out. “Now, Rare Rodney, recite the rest of the class.” Now the last thing Rodney would want to do is attempt to know everyone in his class so he coolly said, “I’ll pass,” and continued to stare at the hole in his pocket. Ms. Callahan finally gave up and the circle continued.

Finally, after what seemed like days, Rodney was saved by the bell. He ran out of the room before he could get yelled at by his psycho teacher. What was next? Oh, Calculus. He had the same teacher has his older brother Joel. “Welcome to Calculus,” the man at the desk said. “I’m Mr. Kirre and you’ll learn all about curves in this class.” Rodney relaxed and knew that this class would be fun. Joel was constantly reciting the funny lines he said in class. When he took role, he stopped at Rodney’s name and after he said he was here Mr. Kirre said, “Savage… Rodney, is Joel your brother?” Rodney smiled and said, “Yeah.” It didn’t matter who was in the class now because Mr. Kirre was here.

After that class was break. Rodney immediately rushed downstairs to his special spot on the wall. He was greeted by his “gang” and enjoyed swapping stories of the morning mess. Soon though, he found himself heading for Econ. He entered the door and groaned- this class was full of chatty girls! Literally- everyone in his class was his ideal version of the worst person to share a class with! The teacher was the very oblivious Mrs. Seller. Luckily, when she made everyone introduce themselves, he successfully avoided being called on because he so conveniently placed himself between a pile of stacked desks. Nobody noticed him, even when class got out. By the time she realized, he was running down the hall to his next class- shop.

Rodney has always loved shop and he was more than eager to say hi to Mr. Barnes. He took his usual chair- in the back corner of course, but he was more open and alert than in his morning classes. All of his buddies share this class with him so he was very happy when they all walked in and sat in their “usual spots.” There were a few new people in the class so they introduced themselves. Then, the olds introduced themselves. When the spotlight fell on Rodney, he said his name quietly. “I’m sorry, what’s your name?” Mr. Barnes said teasingly. In unison, William and Ghost yelled out, “RODNEY SAVAGE! HE’S A SENIOR AND HE HAS A BAND! HE PLAYS THE GUITAR AND TENOR SAX IN HIS SPARE TIME!!” Rodney just laughed and said, “That’s about it.” But before they could go on, Jayce said, “He really likes to listen to music.” Rodney was so glad his buddies were there to speak for him when he didn’t like to.

The last hour was one of Rodney’s favorites- Advanced Guitar. There was no playing on the first day of school, but they once again introduced themselves and Rodney spoke quietly. They had to say their name, grade, and why they’re in the class. Rodney, hurriedly as always, said, “I’m Rodney, senior, and I have a band.” The class yelled, “Hi, Rodney!” He just frowned and shrunk up even tighter. He stared at the hole in his pocket and wondered just how much time he had left before he could go home. He started playing with the hole in his pocket and thought of how weird this class would be with Joel gone. He was absentmindedly listening to the same lecture that Mr. Cook said every year about his life and why he plays guitar and so on. He peeked around to see who was in the class; a bunch of people he didn’t know and a few he did. He looked down at the hole again and found that he could stick his finger through it. Yes, this class would be really different without Joel because they couldn’t sit in the back and write songs together and RRRIIPP! Back to the present! Rodney had torn his pocket open! Great, now everyone was looking at him. He never let his mind wander like this until he met Avicile. He suddenly realized that he’d be spending the afternoon with her! Yes!

The bell finally rang and Rodney quickly left and got to his car. He found Avicile and they went home together to hang out for the evening.

Diamond/Latham Holiday Letter 2011

Hello everyone! As this year comes to a close, we are all celebrating the highs and lows of 2011. We have lived in our house for a year and a half now and are still loving the neighborhood just as much as we did when we moved in. Over the past year several highly musical families have moved in around us and it's been quite exciting to see this young neighborhood take root and grow old and mossy. We've made so many great friends and have enjoyed hosting countless parties, both big and small.

Lesko
I started the year off rough but recovered in time to complete my junior recital, which was a great time indeed. I've been working a lot and have passed several more classes that have helped me move along in my career as an audio recording specialist. I still work at Norton Johnson and greatly enjoy the people I work with and the fun that we have. As my junior year ended Eric and I did a summer tour all over Kiillaana with ILEN playing in several places and making wonderful memories along the way. We even got to spend a few days in Jadali! I'm also really happy to say that as of this fall KU finally got on the bandwagon and offers an Audio Production degree, thanks to the new audio center built on campus right behind the music building. All of the classes I've taken over the past few years totally count towards that degree so I'm proud to say that I'll be the first person here to graduate with a degree in AudPro! Dr. Holland has been so fun to work with and I'm definitely coming back this fall to get my master's. I'll likely freelance for a while until something more permanent becomes available but I'm looking closely at the Kphil and the Black Shirt Gang. As always, I'm still in ILEN and we're still going strong!

My health took a dive again as the fall started, involving a few trips to the hospital, but as of recent I feel much better and hopefully this snag is behind us. My family has been amazing in helping me stay in good spirits and I want to thank them all for helping me cross every thorny path with confidence. I really hope this year brings much less drama in the health department.

Avicile
Wow! What a year this has been! On January 17th, we welcomed our daughter Emerald into our crazy family. She's proving to be a handful but fairly quiet and she's already showing a social butterfly personality. I've been busy with school, going part-time so that I can get a class or two out of the way each semester so that one day I can graduate with a general music degree. I'm hoping to get back into band, despite the imminence of our growing family, especially since at the moment I won't be having any children this next semester, haha. I'm taking a slightly fuller load to check some music classes off the list and as always I'm still a big member of Club Spicy. It's grown over this past year as new music parent folk join the fold and I've had a wonderful time watching their children and them watching mine so that I can attend some classes. Everything is working out beautifully and I'm so thankful for my family and friends who are always there to lend me a hand and to be there to talk to.

Sterling
Our Early Sterling is almost two years old already! He's up and running and is a quiet but social little guy! He loves to walk into band and orchestra when it ends and say hello to Daddy and make the rounds in his arms to say hello to everyone. His other favorite activity is eating! He's very tall and skinny, just like his daddy, and looks much older than his age because of this. He's got quite a big vocabulary too- he's certainly living up to his Early title! We're very excited to see how he grows this next year. :-)

Emerald
Our Emerald is almost a year old already! If we thought Sterling looked like his daddy, Emerald looks even more so! She's full of energy and is almost walking now. She loves to be with Sterling in whatever he's doing and we can't wait until she is old enough to play with him. We can tell that they will be best friends. She is a very adaptable girl who loves anything that is LOUD! We can't wait to see her grow even more this next year!

Eric
Hello everyone, Eric here. This year has been totally awesome. I still work as a music coordinator at KP under the eye of my good friend and love it. My job now is to schedule the events in the park and get those that want to perform slated up. I've also had several opportunities to play in the park too which I've enjoyed immensely. This past summer ILEN went on tour all over Kiillaana and I had a total blast. The coolest thing that happened was my older brother Neil started dating Augustus' little sister Danielle when we were going along and they got married! Oh, ILEN love! As our senior year has started Rebecca and I have decided that the time is right to start trying to add children to our family. No news yet but you better believe you'll hear it when it happens. :P I'm just chugging along working towards my big senior recital as well as taking the last couple of my music business classes. Once that's all done I can relax and find my groove as a professional musician. I've put in an audition as a permanent member of the Black Shirt Gang and if I get that then I'll be playing my high chops all over the scene. I've been loving life and can't wait to see what happens this next year.

Rebecca
Hello, hello! I've been quite busy this year working on my performance degree and have been hired as a member of the KP orchestra. Basically, instead of swiping park tickets I now get to play trumpet in the live shows that the park puts on, which is much more enjoyable, I think! ;) The music sometimes gets old but it's lots of fun and the musicians there are great. There are lots from KU there too. The three of us seniors (me, Eric, Lesko) are still busy with marching band as always and will be sad when we have to leave. It's been a lot of fun but I think all of us are glad to be done with it all. Now that graduation is so close Eric and I are getting ready to add our own children to the mix. :) We're planning to have a family built through birth and adoption and can't wait until we're old enough to do that. We're already planning it now and have gotten things in order for when that time comes. Other than that, I've been great this past year and have enjoyed going to school with my cousins and family.

Well, with all of that, we hope everyone is having a wonderful Year's End!

Love,
Lesko, Avicile, Sterling, Emerald, Eric, and Rebecca

Lesko and Avicile Mohaili Diamond Welcome Baby Girl

Finally she is here! It felt like she would never come! She looks almost exactly like her daddy! The two of us are pleased to announce the arrival of...

Emerald Oaklynn Diamond

on January 17, 2011, at 3:58pm weighing in at 8 pounds even. She is beautiful and we are so eager to begin life as a family of four!

She's HERE!!!!

Oh my goodness the past 12 or so hours have been absolutely INSANE! As most of you know Avicile's water broke like right after she said she wanted things to hurry along... for the second time!!! Maybe she has that gift to cause things to happen... ;)

Things weren't hugely happening at first so we all went back to bed, or tried to. It's really important that I do not get sleep deprived so I didn't really fully wake up when she told me the news but it was hard to get any rest... I did manage to get enough to feel pretty good though! She tried to go back to sleep until a good hour of the morning but without much success because by the early morning things started to pick up. We left a note to Eric and Rebecca, who were sleeping off their jet lag, and threw some clothes on Sterling and had Oja drive us up to the hospital. We got checked in and things progressed slowly. We finally had some time to chill and alert everyone that out little girl was near!

It's kind of funny, because today is Avicile's cousin Adam's birthday. He is from here and is the youngest of a huge line of kids, a lot of them musicians. I know him quite well since he is a trumpet player and he initially went to UK2 for college but quickly changed his mind and is coming to KU for his music degree, so we'll be seeing lots of each other from now on. He visited us a few times too, so he could get to know Eric and I (helpful that the 2 section leaders live together!) and even joked that our daughter would be born on his birthday so that it would be easy to remember. Haha, easy it is and true it has become!!

Lots of family gathered and a few friends like Eagle, Gary, and Haven to help out and meet our little one. It took a good many hours but FINALLY at a little before 4:00 our little girl entered the world to make us a family of 4! She looks just like me! Right down to her blonde hair and darker eyebrows. Oh my goodness it's literally like looking at a clone of me! She is physically healthy and was certainly kicking and screaming! She's been weighed and all that good stuff so now she is settling down with Mom and is saying hello to her new big family. Sterling is so excited, and does not seem too bothered that he has to share with this little one. Hopefully it stays that way... ;)

Her name will be revealed in the official post coming right up!

Here We Go!!!

Oh my goodness this is Lesko here. My wife's water finally broke as she was getting up again in the wee hours of the morning. We're at the hospital now! I've just now been able to sit down at a compy. Eric and Rebecca are on their way after they slept off their weird jet lag and of course my brother and his wife are here and lots of my family and lots of her family... I'm so breathless! We're going to have a baby girl later today!

Probably this evening some time. Oh boy!

Sterling is enjoying the attention from everybody. He knows something's up. We have no idea how he is going to initially react to the new baby but he's been running up and down the halls shouting "Baby!" I love that boy. He is so cute!

Avicile is just resting now getting comfortable in her bed. In the last 12 hours she has gone from our little girl being stuck tightly up with almost no sign of coming out to well on her way out! In a few minutes we're all going to take a walk to try and get this baby girl further out. Stay tuned!

16 January, 2011

Arrival

Yay! Eric and Rebecca landed at the airport at a little after 10. It worked out that Oja drove, since I can hardly reach the steering wheel and Les obviously can't drive. I've started to feel like something is going to happen with my big tummy soon. Wouldn't it be funny if I suddenly sprung into labor?

Anyway they all arrived out of the gates and we were so happy to see them! We chatted with Rebecca's family that also went and then after we got everything we went out separate ways and took E&R home. They're not tired thanks to jet lag and stuff. In fact, they're both full of energy! This may or may not be a good thing as school starts for them Tuesday. I've been helping them unpack everything while they play with Sterling and recount the details of their trip. Just updating quickly while they have a compy up to download their pictures.

More later??

That Baby of Mine

Hello everyone! Avicile here!

Well my big baby girl is still residing tightly up in me with no plans to move out. This is kind of a change for me considering Sterling was a week early. The doctors are kind of thinking maybe something was off with my due date but I just think she's hanging on for dear life. We would love for her to come out soon though! (hint, hint!) Then we can tell the world of her name and give Sterling a little baby to learn to live with!

I'm doing well despite all this. I'm HUGE but just dancing along, ready to leave for the hospital any minute. Eric and Rebecca have been in Taigana all this week and are actually probably in the air as we speak, or close to it. It takes like 8 hours to fly from Par-So (East Taigana) to here in Pathreeah. They were visiting Rebecca's sister Amber and her husband Ske who used to go to our school but both wanted to move back to their home country so they transferred to PSIU. Rebecca goes there every couple years anyway to visit her old orphanage and meet up with the ladies that so long ago gave her life and hope. They should arrive home at about midnight tonight along with the people in Rebecca's family who went also. It will be hectic I'm sure but they will be back just in time for school to start.

I must say that the three of us here are missing them dearly although Oja and Cameron are in town for a few weeks visiting. We love and appreciate their help! I feel so huge and they just volunteer to play with Sterling so I can get some rest and help fix dinner and all that fun stuff when Les is at work.

Gah I feel so unorganized! My thoughts are all over the place. Maybe if I jinx it by saying I wish things would hurry up, our baby girl will decide to make her entrance. Haha, it would be funny if she arrived just in time for school to start. I can dream, can't I?

Well anyway Lesko just got home from his meeting and Oja and Cameron are here from her parents' house so we're going to enjoy some family time together before we work out how we're going to pick up Eric and Rebecca. Haven might be down later today or tomorrow too just for fun. Remember, she's only like 3 weeks behind me with her own baby!

Hopefully my next post will be good news or a prelude to good news! Bye for now!

Diamond-Latham Holiday Letter 2010

Happy holidays everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the Year's End Festival as much as we are. :)

2010 was a great year indeed. Lots of good things happened. During the summer, we moved into our brand new house located in a brand new subdivision in the very north part of town. We all love our new house and it did not take long before it truly felt like home. It's still a duplex and both sides were made to our liking. The thing we enjoy most about it is our huge living room perfect for hosting all kinds of parties. :) There is room enough for indoor and outdoor concerts as well and it's been magically perfect for us to perform. We definitely look forward to many wonderful years in this house, that's for sure!

Lesko: I recently finished the fall semester of my junior year. Only three more to go! I am right on track with my double degrees and this spring I have my junior recital to look forward to. Eek! That will happen in early March and I am busy getting things all ready for it. I am still progressing towards my future career as a sound technician which is going great! I have lots to do at work and enjoy every minute. These guys are so great to work with! As for my health things are moving along. I just finished a 3 day study and I have to say I am sooooo glad that's over! I feel much better and am ready to keep chugging along. I'm getting ready to celebrate my 21st birthday and of course getting ready to welcome our 2nd child due in mid-January. :)

Avicile: Hi there! This year has been amazing, as I have plunged into my own adventures of motherhood. Our baby boy Sterling was born on New Year's Eve, just sliding into 2009 before the moon signified the new year. Silly boy! I have been taking a class or two each semester to get a break from being home and have met many wonderful friends in the band world who also have young children. This group was formed by Joseph Ambrose Cook a few years ago when he came here and is called Club Spicy. Lots of my fellow bandmates are now members of this group and we do things like group babysitting and trade-offs so that we can attend some class. I've been enjoying raising our little boy and look forward to all the fun and stories that will form in 2011 with the addition of our little girl in mid-January!

Sterling: Our little boy turns one year old in 6 days! He totally surprised us all by deciding to slide into the last day of 2009, earning him the nickname "Early Sterling." He is proving to continue the trend of being on the early side, with waking up early but reliably at about 6 each morning, having words for us already, and he took his first steps yesterday!! He is very tall for his age and is still proving to look much like his daddy. :) One of the only differences is his full head of black hair like his mommy! He has been relatively healthy with just one bad cold and is so mellow- rarely fussy and pretty quiet, although he has certainly discovered his voice! :P We hope that he will fill his role as the oldest with honor and that he and his little sister will share many fond moments.

The Little One: Only about 3 weeks to go until she is here! Everything looks good and she has been kicking me nonstop! It's getting hard to move around but I am loving wearing Lesko's huge sweatshirts. Roll on, January! Teehee!

Eric: Hello everyone! I've been quite well this year and have been ever working towards graduation as well. One of the highlights of the year was getting hired as a sub-manager for musical events at Kennywood Playground. My boss is Joseph Ambrose Cook! How great is that, to work under a good friend! My job is to take down the names of groups that want to schedule time to play and edit and submit this to Joseph Ambrose. I also, on occasion, get to perform in the park which I love too. I also can't wait until ILEN get s to start performing in the park! As for school, I too am working on my junior recital, like another half of the band. :o Mine is going to be almost right away come February and I am so ready to tackle this. Other than school Rebecca and I have been having a great time as husband and wife and love our new house so much! No kids yet but we are already getting things ready because we are definitely planning to adopt as well as having homegrown kids. ;)

Rebecca: Ah yes, 2010 was a great year! There's nothing I love more than being with my amazing family and playing great music! I too have been hard at work preparing for my own junior recital. Sheesh! Three trumpets at least! Once I have this out of the way I can begin my senior year and then Eric and I will begin cultivating a family of our own. ;) I am still totally loving taking care of Sterling and am eagerly awaiting his little sister. ;) My huge family is doing well too and I have enjoyed spending time with them as well as my birth parents and little brother. As for my health I've been great, with no issues to report! I am still working at KP as a ticket person and enjoy that, although I am totally auditioning as a musician for parades and shows this summer! I look forward to warm weather and, before that, a trip with Eric to Taigana on the 10th for a week to see my sister and her husband. It should be fun!

Well, that wraps things up! I'll be back to report on all events happening soon! We love you all!

Love,
Lesko, Avicile, Sterling, Miss Diamond, Eric, and Rebecca

An Update from Diamond/Latham

Hi everyone! It's Lesko here! I thought I should pop on and do an update on us as well as some others, now that school is in full swing.

As for me, I'm doing great! After some glitches in September I am back to feeling much better. Work is going along just fine and I am well on my way to having a career as a sound technician. What would be great is if I got hired to work for the university. Then I could spent a lot of time there and get to enjoy more music. I'd be working tandem with someone else if I did that but that's fine with me! Other than that I am enjoying working at the studio and am much better at doing things right the first time and troubleshooting. Not too long now before I'm a pro!

As for school, it's going quite well. I am finally past all those annoying core music classes and have moved onto a couple business-y and core classes to help with my business major. I am enjoying marching band, band, and orchestra and love making music. Eric and I are leading the octet again also which has been very fun. I am also gearing up for my junior recital which should be good too. :)

As for family, I am totally enjoying my new role as dad. Sterling recently turned 10 months old! I can't believe how fast time has flown by! It seems like yesterday I was at the hospital holding him and now here he is almost walking. He is saying "mama" and "dada" now which is music to our ears and is starting to say a couple random words here and there. He is truly living up to his nickname, "Early Sterling." :) I'll talk more about him in a bit.

As for my band, it's still going awesome. We have about 2-4 concerts per month, half here and half in Kaytue. We finally got to use our new house for our first concert and we had a great crowd there. I love our house. So perfect! It's the new gathering place. :) Augustus and Addy just recently got a house in Sunway which is just outside PON borders that will fit the needs of Glenn when he is older and has room for their family to grow. I'll be checking it out tomorrow and helping him move in. Harper and Sarah are hoping to get a house in PON somewhere but aren't sure where yet. They are hoping that wherever they go they will be able to host the concerts. We've made lots of new and catchy songs and always are sure to play crowd favorites.

As for our house, it's totally perfect for us. We all spend the majority of our time home in the living room which we share. We've already hosted several parties and once we start filling it up with kids it won't seem so big and empty, haha. :D The houses on either side of us are starting to go up and I'm curious to see who out new neighbors will be.

Well, I'm going to go and let my wife update on herself and Sterling. See ya later!

Haha, thanks Lesko! Well, I am doing pretty well considering! I am managing to do things out of the house, even with a 10-month-old who is getting ready to walk and a huge belly that is totally getting in the way of everything. I am taking a few classes to stay active and am part of a support group called Club Spicy that is made up of band geeks who have kids. I've spent a lot of time watching their kids while they have an hour free to do whatever and they watch Sterling while I do things. I watch little Riedlan for an hour 3 days a week so that Winterwood can take a class and go to her lesson and have enjoyed doing fun activities with the other cuties of our ever-growing group. Haven Vice and I have been doing everything together lately and she has become one of my best friends. We're due within 3 weeks of each other and often do things together.

As for Sterling's little sister, she is doing well. I am about to hit 30 weeks! Les and I do have a name picked out but we'll never tell, until she's here! I've already told you all I'll tell you- that she is a girl! As Sterling is so young, he doesn't really know what's going on so he's not super excited and able to tell me cute names he thinks we should name the baby. I have been reading books and doing activities dealing with having a baby though so at least he'll know what to expect. We have our girlie room all ready to go across the hall from Sterling's room and it's all decked out in pretty stars and clouds. All of the other things are ready- a double stroller, another carseat, clothing, etc so now all we have to do is wait for little Miss Diamond to arrive!

As for Sterling, he is growing up! He takes after his daddy in so many ways! He is tall and thin! No chunky thighs for this baby boy! His black hair is amazingly thick and full and is stick straight. He got my color and his daddy's texture. He has a mouth with teeth now and is enjoying some baby food. His favorite is avocado. Yum yum! He is just about to walk and is cruising everywhere and says Mama and Dada to us which is a real treat, and he is starting to call Eric "Eik" and Rebecca "Bebe". I love it! He is also interacting with the other kiddo's when we see each other and man is he a social butterfly! I know he will be very happy to have siblings. I really think that he and his sister will have a special bond. He is going to his monthly appointments and so far everything looks ok so we'll just wait and see what happens.

The winter season is creeping up and man am I happy I'll be resting with my family for most of it. I feel huge and sore and can't wait to get this baby out of me! It'll be nice again because we'll have help as we get used to being a family of 4 (or 6, depending how you look at it). So much fun! OK, I'm giving the computer to Eric now so he can write an update on him and Rebecca. Bye!

Hello this is Eric. I am finally settled into everything and love all the music stuff I'm doing. I am very much enjoying my job at KP as well and even get to play on the corner occasionally. I am loving writing songs for ILEN and love to perform so much! I've been working out with Rebecca and getting into shape to play those screaming high notes even better! =P School is going great and I love having almost all my classes with my lovely wife and my best friend in the whole world. Bring it, junior year! Then I'll be a senior and then done!

Rebecca and I love the house also and love throwing parties. Between TV, video games, music, party games, and all out fun in our game room, I feel like I am living in Heaven. I can't wait to see what other people we welcome into our lives and throw parties with!

As for kids, we are definitely going to have some but we're waiting until at least next year to try to add our own so that we'll be done with school or close to it. We're also definitely going to adopt, but we have to be a little older first. As my wife is adopted it is very close to both of our hearts and I would love to change the world to a child.

Rebecca is at work right now, so I'll say a few things about her. She is loving school as much as we all are and also loves to take care of Sterling. She is so beautiful and funny and makes friends easily and enjoys going on outings with Avicile or with other girls, and the two of them even let me and Les have guys nights out also. She has no problem getting around the house and her legs are both working just how they're supposed to. She is becoming quite the pro at video games too and her competitive nature that comes out is so much fun! I am so honored to be her husband. :-)

This is Eric, checking out. Hope you enjoyed that update!

Update

Hello all!

Well a lot of things have happened since I last wrote so I guess I'd better catch everyone up!

First of all, we're all moved into our new house! Like I said, Eric and I, along with Avicile and Rebecca, decided to build a duplex in the new neighborhood up north. Well it was finally all ready to go and we have officially moved in and gotten everything unpacked. It's so nice to have a place for everything! We've been hanging out a lot in the combined living room that overlooks our very large backyard and have had many guests over. Our first big concert is scheduled for this Saturday so I'm excited! Our stage outside is all built thanks to the wonderful hands of several friends and we cannot thank them enough.

As for me I am doing very well as of recent. I have finished a couple online classes as well as some training at work and I can now set up equipment quite easily and get it all squared away. I have moved a step closer to a master sound technician which is always good news. I really can't wait to take a class this fall that will teach me how to edit recordings and manage sound inputs to make the best recordings. Man, I feel like Harper almost! He's off in Kaytue learning the same thing! I am still playing trumpet and love it a lot and things are really rolling forward in my performance and business degrees. I am once again a marching band section leader as well as regular band section leader which I have really enjoyed. I can't wait to meet our new people! One of them is Eric's little brother and I am very excited! Less than a week till marching band starts up!

As for Avicile she is also doing very well. She is really enjoying watching Sterling grow before our eyes, as am I. :) She is going to take just a few online classes and one on-campus class with me. She has enjoyed making friends and going out to activities with the members of "Club Spicy" which consists of people in the music program who have kids. They do activities together and of course playdates which is very nice for those who want to take some classes on campus. A lot of the kids are the same age and it's been fun to give each other an hour or so here and there to do things. She is also now 17 weeks pregnant and feels great. She had a little morning sickness but not too bad this go around! She is almost showing a little bit too. Everything is going well and the baby is healthy. Other than that she's been helping around the house and doing fun things.

Now here is an update you've all been waiting for. Sterling is now 7.5 months old! Wow! Boy does time go fast! He is up and crawling around now and loves to chatter! Recently he has starting to reach for furniture and try to walk around! He is still a very easy baby who is content to go with the flow. We wonder what he'll be like as a teen! :) He really loves any sort of toy that makes noise and has loved to be out in the grass on a blanket. He gets a lot of loving from his parents and Eric & Rebecca. We've decided to refer to them as aunt and uncle since we're so close we're almost brothers and all 4 of us are very close. Sterling also loves to go out and about and for the most part is a content and quiet baby but we've had a few mishaps, everybody does! :P Right now we're working on teaching him about being a big brother and with a lot of babies coming through our doors we're helping to transition him into life with a brother or sister. So far he is very social and loves to interact with the other babies and tries to go where they go. There are several around his age and with Rasmus & Melissa's son getting released from the hospital the two of them learn from each other and love to wave and talk back and forth. So cute!

As for Eric he is as good as ever. He loves this new house and has been writing songs for the band like crazy. He also loves Sterling's company and is an awesome uncle. He will be a junior with me and has been practicing his singing and trumpet playing. He too is a music business major and is being interviewed soon for a more "quiet" position up in the works of Kennywood Playground which will hopefully help him climb the ranks to his main goal of becoming a music coordinator for the park. If he gets this job he will schedule upcoming events and help arrange music throughout the park. How cool! He too is excited for school this fall and can't wait to hop right back into the swing of things and get going in marching band.

As for Rebecca she too is amazing. She traveled earlier this summer to a conference to discuss prosthetics and thing and learned a lot. Now that she is back she has been enjoying spending time with her parents and little brother, her big family, and of course Eric. They have been playing sports at the nearby gym and have been having fun on dates at Kennywood Playground. She is very content with her job as a ticket cashier and arcade lady (odd that the job contains both of these positions) and plans to keep it as long as she can, for it is very easy to go part-time when they decide to have kids. She too is ready for school to start and can't wait to hop into band. :)

Whew! I guess that's everything! In random news from my family my youngest brother is in the 6th grade now. No more elementary school! Also, my mom is going back to school now and actually has been for some time now that all of us are old enough to not need her all day. She really wants to be a teacher and teach elementary school. A bit different from her music degree but I think that's very cool! Oh and my brother Dagon got a job at KP as a tick cashier! Woohoo for him! His dream is to operate rides in the park. So glad he's on his way!

I can't wait to share more as it happens!

Love,
Lesko

Baby News!

So much has happened within the Diamond Family recently!

First off, Ricky and Jiji are doing well and have established their home on Heartslove. They are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby who they recently found out is a GIRL!!! Less than 2 months to go now!

And of course by now everyone's heard the wonderful news that Avicile Mohaili Diamond is expecting again! Their little one will be born sometime in January, which will make him/her just a little over a year older than Sterling, which is just what they wanted. Lesko and Avicile are about a month away from moving into their brand new home also. :)

Last but not least Jinasia and Rally went in for her ultrasound to find out if their baby is a boy or a girl and very quickly learned that they are expecting twins!! That was unexpected but very cool considering Rally is of course a twin herself. The thought that they were identical was immediately ruled out as well, because they have a healthy girl and boy! This means that the pair will likely be born before their due date but in the mean time they are out getting a 2nd chair, crib, stroller, etc! They also both graduated from college under the eyes of their proud parents. They now live in Aiyere and Jinasia has had promising positions offered to him. It now looks like he will be Aiyere Shore High School's PE teacher and basketball coach. Very cool!

A Most Pleasant Surprise

Hello!

We are all doing well here at home. Our new house is getting ever closer to being finished! This week we've been exploring room themes and colors and have chosen the carpet for most of the rooms. Before long we'll be moving in the new furniture and hopefully by mid-June all 5 of us will be ready to move in. Eric and Rebecca's side of the house looks beautiful as well and we cannot thank our builder enough!

As for me I'm hanging in there. Things were pretty bad with my health for a while but at the moment things have died down to their usual roar. I really hope I don't jinx myself! I am finishing up my sophomore year and am looking forward to a summer of working, taking a few classes, performing, and having a great time with my family. Augustus will be marching corps this summer, but only in the fun, non-competition shows since his twins are due to be born in May. This means that he'll be here a lot more and we can go on tour! In other news, my favorite color is still green, I am still 6'2, and am the same energetic and happy person that I always have been, just a little older! ;-)

As for Avicile she is doing very well and is loving her role as a mother. We've both gotten the hang of this parenting thing and are very much enjoying raising a family. She visits the school often to chat with friends and always has Sterling in tow. :) She loves to get out and about and having a baby in a sling isn't stopping her! She is even thinking of taking a class or two in the fall, which should be fun!

As for Sterling, he is almost 4 months old already! He is such a mellow baby who is content to be held or to just be in his carrier with someone singing to him. He is full of smiles and is starting to play with toys! He has eyes just like his daddy and they will more than likely be blue or green! :) We love him so much and he is a wonderful way to start our family!

OK it's been too long, I can't hold it back any longer! For the past week or so Avicile has been feeling a bit under the weather so tonight we got out the pregnancy test. It was negative last week but she got a new one out today. She was too afraid to look at it so all 5 of us (Eric, Rebecca, and us 3) sat in a circle in the living room. On the count of three she held it out and we all looked.

IT'S POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll update after Monday's doctor visit!

Well I guess this wraps things up! Looks like we're going to be a family of 4 in January!!

Love,
Lesko

Happy Birthday Lesko and Oja!!!!!

Well here we are! It is January 9th once again and this time the boys turn 20! Both are happily married and one is enjoying getting to know his baby boy :-) It was a nice quiet day as the family got together and had the traditional red and green cake in celebration. A great time was had by all and Sterling was quite content for all of it. Even better of a birthday present for Les :-)

Lesko and Avicile Mohaili Diamond Welcome Baby Boy!!

Hello all!! I hope everyone is enjoying their winter break! I am so excited that I get to finally announce the arrival of our baby boy! What's even better is now we can finally announce his name!

Sterling Kelso Diamond

was born on December 31, 2009, at 11:59 AM weighing 7 pounds 10 ounces! He has a full head of jet black hair and I can already tell he has his daddy's eyes. :) After just a short time he was just quietly observing the world and taking it all in. I wonder what this all means for the future :)

It all started last night. Poor Avicile could hardly get any sleep between contractions and the baby kicking her. She kept asking if everything was packed and thankfully it was. Oja and Cameron are staying with us until they go back to school next month. We were up pretty early the next morning and at about 7:30 Avicile stood up saying, "Man I wish this baby would just hurry on up!" At that very moment her water broke. Haha, she got her wish!

It was madness from that point on. Just the other day we were joking about having a new years baby and here he was! Oja kindly drove us all to the hospital where we were later met by Eric and Rebecca, my parents and siblings, and Avicile's family. Once there we got right to a room. Things went kind of slow from there and we took lots of walks around the wing. Surprisingly, Avicile was quite comfortable and was even laughing and chatting with everyone.

At about 11:00 things really started to move. It became too painful to walk so she went back to the bed to prepare to have this baby! It was just me and the doctors in the room with her but everyone else could see from outside. At that moment, as I looked into her eyes, I realized that I was going to become a daddy. It was so surreal. I was a father!

Things progressed well and finally it was time! I looked and the only thing I could say was "Black hair!! Black hair!!!" With one finall pull he was out and ready to see the world. Within a minute he was handed over to the proud mommy for a couple minutes. He stopped crying and looked right into her eyes. True love. :) My goodness does he look like me! He looks just like me as a baby, but with black hair, and yet he looks like Avicile too. I think he has her nose. :)

He was then taken to be weighed and all that. 7 pounds 10 ounces! Wow! He was 21 inches long however. I think he'll be built like me! ;) He has all of his fingers and toes and looks completely healthy. He had his bloodwork done which he didn't like too much and per our request he is being tested for the genetic defect in which I have that has a 25% chance of being passed on. Through intuition we are certain that he has it, but this way we will know for sure. After all that he was handed to me and then it all hit me again.

I'm a father! This is Sterling, my son! He's absolutely beautiful! Avicile was taken in for post term care and to get some much needed sleep while I just marveled at my son. I can't help but think what life has in store for him. :) All of his grandparents and aunts and uncles took their turns holding him and right now Sterling is sleeping comfortably near his mommy. What a day!

And mom and dad, you're now grandparents! What ever will you do?? :D

We're set to go home late tonight or early tomorrow morning. I'm so excited to start this chapter of our life!

Love,
Lesko, Avicile, and Sterling :)

A Letter From Lesko Diamond

Hello folks! The end of the year is wrapping up and so I thought I should have a Year’s End Letter, so here it is! I am so excited to start my own family letter!

As for me, I am doing quite well at this time. I am a sophomore at Kennywood University where I am double majoring in Music Performance and Music Business. This is a switch from composition, as I was recently promoted to the position of Assistant Sound Technician at my job at Norton-Johnson and discovered that I really love it! So now I am talking classes and training to become a sound and recording technician which I love and want to do for a living. This involves getting microphones and equipment ready for ensembles to record and then processing the video and sound and making it available for viewing. It is a very enjoyable job and I have to thank Oja for getting me a job here in the first place. I am still very active with ILEN and we have performed several shows in Kennywood and Kaytue since the school year started. The four of us have many songs and performances lined up and love to perform! In addition, I am enjoying playing in band, orchestra, a trumpet octet, and marching band at school. I get a lot of experience doing what I love. I am working on a junior recital for next fall and some octet recitals for the spring. In addition to that I enjoy being with friends and family.

Avicile is doing very well also. We found out that we were expecting our first child in May! She decided to go ahead with the fall semester and after many weeks of thinking she decided to do marching band as well! It was so fun seeing her march as her belly grew and grew. She successfully completed the semester with no surprises, so that was good! She has decided to take a break from school to start raising our new family. We want to have a big family but when all of our children are in school she is planning to return. She enjoyed being principal clarinet in band and orchestra and loved the semester. Now she is preparing for our baby boy who is due in early January.

We are very excited to become parents! We are currently sill living in one half of a duplex with Eric and Rebecca Latham living in the other side but we have all purchased an area of land in a new subdivision in the north of the city and are planning to build a duplex there! Currently the foundation is in and progress is going well and we should be ready to move in next summer! It is on a hill and we will share a very large backyard, game room, and pantry. Our side will have a beautiful master bedroom with walk-in bath, 2 bedrooms and 2 bonus rooms, two more bathrooms, a nice entry room with an open kitchen, dining room, and large living room. We are planning to have a large family and plan to live here for a very long time, since everything we like is here. All we have left to do is decide on themes and colors.

As for the baby, he’s doing great! He is between 37 and 39 weeks now and looks to be about 7 pounds. Everything is looking good from the scans and we look forward to meeting our new son soon! There is lots of excitement over who he’ll look like and what he’ll be like once he’s here. We do have a name picked out but we’re not telling until he is born. His middle name will be an anagram of my name and his first name was actually in our minds from the moment we heard it so we knew it was right. We are planning on a gem theme for our children’s names because our last name is Diamond but I’m not spilling any beans before he is here. We have the nursery all ready to go for him though. We chose a jungle theme which hopefully will grow with him and any other children we have. Our bags for the hospital are packed and we have a carseat, stroller, and more all ready to go! All we do now is wait.

We have spent the past week traveling to Aiibaatland and watching my older sister get married, which was very fun for everyone. We went to Jadali for a day and of course went to Aiko County to shop and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We had a wonderful time visiting my family and doing all our fun traditions. Now we are on our way back home and thankfully the baby has been good and has stayed put. It’s all downhill from here! Maybe we’ll even have a New Year’s Baby!

We love you all and look forward to 2010!

Love,
Lesko, Avicile, and Baby Boy

Big Plans!

Today, in two separate states, two brothers have purchased land upon which to build a house.

First of all, in Tarra, Oja and Cameron are well underway mapping out the exact location of their house and property. They want a large house with a rustic feel and a nice basement. Their backyard will be very large and will be the future place of large gatherings. There is a very large tree in their backyard visible from all directions that will eventually serve as a giant treehouse. The couple is very excited because construction starts tomorrow!

Meanwhile, a brand new subdivision has just opened up on the very northeastern border of Kennywood. A large area about a mile square has been designated on the high hills called Greenhill. All of the streets are planned out and plots of land are available for new homeowners to purchase and build their own homes. After many months of thought, Lesko, Avicile, Eric, and Rebecca have decided to purchase a plot of land and build a duplex on it. They have been hard at work designing a house into a very nice hillside that shares a common games room and very large backyard but has two separate entrances, garages, etc. They have met with a person who will work with them to realize their dreams and come up with a masterpiece. They purchased the lot today and tomorrow will be spent surveying it and making sure everything works. Then, they can get to work building it and it should be done by summer!
