Spotlight on: Ike Lare

Full Name: Sigmund Weldon Lare

Birthday: February 29, 1992

Method of Creation: #1- He started as a name, and #3- He is Ambrose's lil bro!



The Lare family has a lot of history behind it. Ambrose and Ike's father, Gilmore Lare was born in a family stricken with a devastating, fatal genetic defect. Out of the six children in the family, only two did not have the defect: Gilmore and the youngest son, Riedlan. This being said, Ambrose, Ike, and Eleora have significance behind their names. In the case of Ike, lots of planets lines up and things were coincidental.

First of all, on February 29, 1960, Ike's uncle Weldon died from the disease he had. Ike was born on that same day in 1992. Therefore, Weldon is his middle name. His first name is Sigmund because, well, it rings the same as Ambrose for me and it's a cool name! He goes by Ike because his parents have always wanted a son named Ike but it sounded too nickname-ish. So they made a compromise. He loves the name Ike and it suits him really well so no problem there.

Anyway, Ike is a lot like Ambrose. He is a very talented horn-player as well and is somewhat of a farmboy by nature, although he really enjoys hunting and fishing. He is a lot taller than Ambrose and looks like his father. He was a "farmer-turned-musician" much the same way Falcon Rivers was a "fisherman-turned-musician." He is two grades younger than Ambrose and currently is a junior at Brassington High School.

There isn't much to say about Ike yet since he's still a work in progress but I know enough about him that he's really cool and funny. Here are five fun facts:

1. Ike was born on Leap Day!! He's technically 4 years old.

2. Ike did NOT inherit Ambrose's bad fortune (being a klutz)

3. Ike knows how to sing and quite well.

4. Ike marches mellophone in drum corps.

5. Ike has nystagmus. In other words, his eyes shake.
