Fast Facts:
- Karosona was actually born in Das Varhin and was abandoned at birth. He was sent to a local orphanage and was adopted at the age of one year by Fiaro Alahu and Kelani Jovan. They kept his birth name of Karosona and were very open with him about his past.
- He has no blood related siblings but he is the oldest of 5 adopted children from all over the world- Keraine Alahu Migali (1966, Taigana), Maru Alahu (1966, Catarika), Kelvani Alahu Fasili (1970, Kiillaana), and Ruvani Alahu (1971- Kiillaana).
- He grew up fully aware that he was adopted and felt like he was meant to be raised by these parents. He had many of their mannerisms and never felt left out.
- He became interested in history because of his past.
- He never slept much but his parents assumed it was the way he was and, having no background of his birth parents, didn't know if they were the same way.
- As the other 4 children entered the family they began to realize that Karosona did many things that the others did not. They especially noted that he was very strong and quick to recover from anything.
- He traveled to Taigana at the age of 4 to meet his sister Keraine and did not sleep the entire plane ride there or back. The flight attendants marveled at this and one jokingly suggested that perhaps he was a Man of Osai. This small phrase stuck in Fiaro's mind for many years.
- By the time Kelvani and Ruvani had entered the family in 1972 Karosona was proving to be very different from even his siblings. He was much darker and quieter and was a definite ponderer. Nobody could quite put their finger on it but he was different, and not just biologically. The phrase '[He must be an Osanokai!]' kept running through his father's mind and he went to the Rihanu Library to research just what that meant. What he found described his son spot on. He contacted Yehai Sorela who happily agreed to meet young Karosona. As he saw him their eyes both glowed with the mark and Osai made it very clear that he was indeed the next Man of Osai waiting to be discovered.
- Karosona had obviously known this for some time but had no idea the significance. Since he had no traceable family Osai told him that he had some Migali blood from several generations before.
- Living in Rihanu, he met most of the Osanokai before he was even in high school. He took his gift to heart and made it a point to help everyone that he could. He was very open about it and spoke on it every chance he got.
- He met the love of his life, Mirali Kaltos, when he was in high school. They dated as soon as they were old enough and were married right after they graduated in 1982.
- The two of them went to Rihanu University where they both studied archaeology and genealogy. Working as one, they have traveled all over Catarika studying ancient artifacts and piecing together the very beginnings of their land.
- They live together in Rinta, a city about an hour northeast of Rihanu. They spent much of their time traveling however and have been to every single city in Catarika, collecting the crest patches along the way.
- They have two children, Miriele Alahu Kribana (1985) and Aldin Alahu (1988), who love to travel with them on their various trips around the country.
- Karosona is one of the few Osanokai that doesn't teach or do a lot of interaction with students. He is purely a researcher and spends many late nights piecing little things together and collaborating with others in the field.
- His many writings have shed tons of light on Catin History and his discovery of some ancient boats on the north coast, which he is most famous for, helped fill gaps in the timeline of Morley Atoll.
Like so many Osanokai, Karosona Alahu is extremely dark and his true expression easily hidden under his shadowed eyes and etched frown. He bears the look of a true researcher completely submerged in his work. He carefully analyzes every detail on every little piece of artifact that comes his way. Next to him is a notebook with which he carefully records and documents everything. He is a man of amazing organization and precision and has set an example for many to follow. He looks like a roughened man who would be very harsh but all it takes to quickly dispel that myth is to look at him when his beautiful wife walks in.
She too is an archaeologist and as she enters the room where he works he looks up and his face glows with a loving smile. All roughness disappears and he stands up to gently take her in his arms and give her a kiss. All the love he had for her on their first date is completely there and, if anything, it has grown as they have aged through life together. He smiles and talks to her in a sweet voice that is so very Catin. She smiles back and replies something. They kiss one last time as she leaves to return to her office. However, she is back a minute later, having forgotten to give him what she came there for in the first place. Laughing, they kiss again and she goes back to her office where she resumes cleaning more artifacts for him to document.
