Enter Lochgren!

Wow! It's my 200th post! What better way to celebrate than by introducing a new duo on the scene! You may remember the girl from this big post (a couple pictures down the page) as a member of the Newcomers Series 2011. Well, things rarely stay in their very first draft and now, not only is KU getting one newcomer from Jadali, it's getting two!

I've been re-reading the Harry Potter series and it's given be some good ideas of how to narrate some things and I really can't wait to try it out, using this pair as the focus for now. So, without 'taking further ado' enter Severin and Moira Lochgren!

Moira is the beginning of this seedling storyline, built up quickly to serve as the "student of Jadali that the school gets every five years." Her name is unmistakably Keòen and her appearance is even more strong. She clearly displays the right blue and left brown eye that denotes a Jadali-Kiillra as pure-blooded. Her hair is a light brown and is very wavy, another clear sign of her race. She, like all Jadali that wish to attend college/live in the mainland, started Taleah High School in the year she turned 14, being hosted by a family of the city. She lived with her aunt and uncle, going back home on the weekends and long holidays. However she sometimes would return home in the evenings as she is from Leena Eithre Resa, the city closest to Taleah. Accessible only by ferry, which was run by her father among others, it was pretty easy for her to travel the 12 miles and not miss school if she got up early enough. Her defining claim to fame at the moment is that she bought her first flute at a second hand shop in Cobh de Via while on vacation as a young girl, spurring her love for music from there on after.

Severin, though older, came two months later. I found the name on a website (no surprise there) and really liked it a lot. It sounded pretty Keòen to me and just like that I had at least three persona that were in queue to take on this name. He is Moira's brother, not husband, though the two are the best of friends. Severin has a reputation for losing his temper and cursing/behaving in silly ways, NEVER putting his anger on others or himself and certainly causing no harm. He does tend to yell a lot when mad, but always rhetorically, as if to the air, never directed at someone. With his rounded face, large eyes, and curly black hair, he looks strikingly similar to Aslan Loch, and during his first days at KU, the two were asked so much if they were related that they began telling people they were and became great friends over it. Severin spent a year of college at Attlefort Coastal University where he was studying music but really wanted to go wherever his sister went, and that ended up being a place far away from the east coast where the man that every Jadali knew taught humbly out of the spotlight.

I have a basic idea of these two and after this brief (and very non-proper, as I plan to introduce them slowly over time) spotlight I'll get right to work writing out a couple stories to warm them up before they turn up on the first day of school, their different color eyes wide with excitement and their reputations in the music department constructed.

Full Name(s)
Severin Elvin Lochgren (April 24, 1992)
Moira Iria Lochgren (November 17, 1993)

Moira came about satisfying a position I had available (a pure Jadali). Severin started as a name that I really liked. I mean, doesn't Severin Lochgren just sound cool???

They come from a large family (I'm thinking 10 or so kids) and are from the Great Port of Leena, known in Keoen as Leena Eithre Resa. Their father, Elwin Lochgren, works at the company that runs the ferry from Taleah to LER each day (first boat to Taleah leave at 5am, last one to dock gets in around 11:30pm) and their mother, Tania Balthor Lochgren, works at the port customs office. Their father gets lots of discounts and gifts for working the ferry and the family goes on vacation each year, usually to Cobh de Via or further south to Attlefort.

They are fairly close in age and have been the best of friends for most of their life. The sharp observer may notice that Moira's birthday is in November and she is only 17, meaning she should actually be a junior in high school, but Jadali schools start their year at the new year, the year that the students will turn 5 (the majority start at age 4). Because of this, Jadali students going to high school in Kiillaana have their cutoff on December 31 rather than September 1. She is much younger than her peers but has had no problem at all, especially with her older brother around for help. They were hosted at school by their aunt and uncle, who happen to live in Taleah, and enjoyed high school very much. The only time they were really apart was when Severin went to college about an hour south by train for a year, majoring in music, playing percussion.

There's a little background for now. I hope to introduce these two through stories rather than a spotlight, for a little interesting change. I leave with 5 facts for each of them:

Severin's 5 Facts:
1. His favorite color is green.
2. He loves to read.
3. He has a short temper but always reacts in a benign, comical way.
4. He loves "mainland stuff."
5. He has a crippling fear that not many know about.

Moira's 5 Facts:
1. She got her flute at a second hand shop in Cobh de Via.
2. She prefers her traditional Jadali dress to Kiillaanian styles.
3. Her favorite thing about herself is her hair.
4. She is a total vegetarian and dislikes fish.
5. Her easygoing nature perfectly balances her brother's short fuse.
