Method of Creation: #3- He was just a quick sketch on paper that I never expected to flesh out!
Creation Story:
Cobra can easily be traced back to a picture I drew of Eagle Rivers way back in the day. Eagle was the drum major of his high school marching band, along with two others. I drew a quick sketch of these three, naming the other two Cobra Vice and Lion Stallion.

Cobra took form as a tall boy with a pointed face, deep-set eyes, and a very prominent widow's peak. His hair is sort of based off of a teacher I had that had a ponytail that revealed a flat-cut style during the 5 seconds he would wear it down when he adjusted it. It's semi-curly although on Cobra it became black and not a dirty blonde and Cobra always wears it down. It's combed back and although the waves make it springy, it isn't frizzy.
At first, Cobra was mostly Raellian by race, with other races mixed in since he's a Red Islander. Like most who live in IDA, Cobra has an animal name. Years later when Jadali really made it onto the map I realized that Cobra looked just like a Jadali-Kiillra (can't deny it with that widow's peak! haha) and it became settled: he has a 2nd-generation Raellian father (Jacoria Vice) and a (pure!) Jadali-Kiillra mother (Selda Hieldin) from Cobh de Via who always felt like the hippie life was the life for her. Cobra is an only child and was born quite a while after his parents met and were married. His middle name, Sethery, is the Keòen word for snake which further complements his first name.
The things I knew about Cobra were limited. Being a drum major, he was obviously into music and ended up playing tenor sax (probably in tribute to the same guy that he got his hair from). He was in the same grade as Eagle (HS class of '08) and was a good friend of not only Eagle but his brother Falcon and Jaguarondi Lightfoot (twin brother of Eagle's wife Winterwood). Cobra's circle of friends included Jag, Falcon, Eagle, and Blackbear Kye Moonset- a pretty famous young man of his hometown. When Eagle had his near-death experience in late 2008, Cobra's family hosted many of the visitors in the hotel that I realized they owned. He went to Kesly Coastal University for his freshman year of college but somehow Eagle and Jag convinced him to join them over at KU and he did so, taking the tenor sax spot in band and majoring in music ed. Probably the most adorable thing that I knew about Cobra was that he has a lisp. I didn't even connect that to the fact both of his names mean snake; it just happened that way!
When Cobra made the big move from his coastal town of Port Rose to the bustling city of Kennywood many more things happened. With the realization of Haven Henley and her story of arriving in Kiillaana from Catarika with her cousin Cedric somehow the two connected and began dating. Haven was well known for being one of the only people who could read Cedric's expressionless face (making her strongly of Terabi) and it was quickly realized that Cobra had that ability as well, connecting deeply and quickly with Cedric. Somewhere along the line, Haven and Cobra got engaged and were married shortly after Cedric's death in 2010. Sometime after that, Haven became pregnant with their son and he was born on a very significant day, February 7, sharing his birthday with both Cedric and Haven. Cobra and Haven took this as a sign from Terabi and Cedric that their heartache and struggles were known.
Cobra and Haven's son is named Sidry Phoenix Vice (first name sounding like Cedric and also being a form of Sethery, middle name symbolic of being reborn) and looks a lot like Cedric but also quite a bit like Cobra. He is currently almost a year old.
While Cobra isn't as prominent as many others he is still very unique and part of a storyline that I will probably write about someday. Currently, he is getting ready to student teach at Lionel High School next school year.
